Memoryhouse Ft. Humans of UChicago pt. 3

On growing up in the Republic of Georgia:
“During the revolution school was canceled and you didn’t really do anything and you couldn’t get anywhere. Since then there have been a lot of protests and some of them would get shut down with tear gas. It’s pretty scary because you’d have friends who would go to protests because we were young and it seems like a fun thing to do, to see what’s happening. Democracy seems like such an idealistic thing to fight for, but then in places where it’s not really established, it’s just really difficult to institutionalize it and have people actually participate and to be honest about elections.”
